It’s starting to heat up in FNQ so now is the perfect time to enjoy a refreshing swim! Today we went up to Davies Creek, located 53km from Cairns via the Kuranda Range. It’s the perfect spot for a day trip – or camp and make a weekend of it!
We drove all the way to the end of the road on this trip where we explored the forest and dipped our feet in the refreshing (albeit shallow) waters. After our little frolic we headed back down and stopped at camp number 5. It’s our favourite site by far as there are dozens of little turtles in the pristine waters, beautiful granite and a eucalypt bushland backdrop!
Camp number 5 is situated in Dinden National Park. You can book camping here. The site includes a toilet and features direct access to the river. Plus, campfires are allowed so you can roast those marshmallows! It has a max of 10 people camping at any time so it’s semi-private – you won’t be camping right next to other people.
